Connective Nature Poetry...

Forever grateful for 

nature's wildlife 

free roaming, grazing 

green grasslands 

tallgrass, wheat fields 

swaying in the muscular 

breath of gusting winds 

sun's gracious aura 

simmering 

~ 

Stilled heifers’ gaze 

wandering, cautious 

of the unknown 

a young boy 

stands quietly 

excited, mother and 

her yearling waiting 

wondering  

~ 

To see a calf birthing 

born to this world 

a miracle of life 

as the human 

newborn, hungered 

sorrowing, overwhelmed 

hands reaching for the 

unknown 

~ 

The unknown stepping 

toward the baying calf 

his hand outstretched... 

openly giving 

first glimpse of 

trusting, caring 

loving compassion 

a bond realized 

~ 

The boy marveled at 

nature's emergent way 

a gift, portrayal of 

of the essence 

marvel for what is  

and forever shall be 

to coexist, evolution’s 

journey
