Confusion and upset between us
weighs heavy on our fabric of being
when broken-hearted and feeling
let down, forgotten, our sadness
overshadows life's human connection
we worry, endlessly, what have we done
to dismantle the beauty of heart's content
doubtful and hopeless, forlorn
~
We are human, say things, disaffected
we fall from truth and trust
our open arms and heart sounds waver
with malcontent...
tears fall where a smile becomes a
frown, a wounded smile falls out
of favour
my love, I beg your forgiveness
~
My life has been full of the blessings
we've shared, contentment our
foundation, resilient
you care as no other, I truly adore
your heart, your mind, your soul
for it is unabating kindness, affection
I love our time, our place, for
you complete me in every way
~
We can fix what is broken
if we want it to be
what it always has been and more
I never meant to cause you this pain
for losing you, life never the same
hold me close now, and forever more
my heart is yours to have, to hold
take my hand, hold me close and
forever we'll be; always turn to me
when you're down
