Imagine dream lovers on the beach, poetry…

 You and I stroll sandy beaches 

two lovers lost in the rapture 

intense passion, barefoot wander 

can you imagine loving this way 

hand in hand, our toes’ impressions  

trail behind, mapping our wayward wander 

gulls swoop and dive, their chatter lingers  

sun fading slowly, our mood is sensual 

~ 

An ecstasy compels our thoughts 

as we settle to rest on the sand 

our eyes transfixed on each other 

hands touching, loving, stroking 

we are nearing surrender as 

water's edge dancing, stars glimmer 

a full moon rising as sensual pleasure  

may our love forever be this way 

~ 

Our love resides as deeply within 

hearts embracing as kindling fire 

heat of passion endures as long 

as we cherish this burning desire 

sweetest surrender, our love song 

now and always, a love we share 

I love that you love me this way...  

forever loving this way

In the composition of this poem, I wanted to set the tone of the piece through the connective image that accompanies the poem. I wanted readers to close their eyes to picture themselves in a romantic senario as portrayed throughout the piece. I wanted to develop a sense of longing and nurture how  a couple would find a growing sense of love connection walking on a sandy beach near sundown, their hands entwined and a dreamy gaze into each others eyes. Feel the imminent desire, the longing for love by water's edge, waves lapping onto the sandy shore, a gentle breeze, and a full moon rising into the night sky with a brilliant glow giving one a sense of aloneness together, the opportunity for privacy and the beginnings of a beautiful relationship! Imaging 'loving this way'...
